A Fisherman’s Wecome

What a nice surprise when this fisherman said “no problem” when asked if we could tie our dingy to the dock. He even came over to help us out. And here is why this gesture was so appreciated.

Each country, state, town and port have their own rules and norms for visiting vessel tie ups. Some places don’t allow it outright, other places have very specific locations, some charge a fee, some charge an outrages fee and some don’t mind what you do as long as you are out of the way of traffic and private areas. Before stepping ashore the welcome tone is set.

A few days later he was a hero! Ken jumped in the water for a swim off the Bistari only to realize in mid-air his glasses were sailing into the water. The wonderful man helped us locate a diver who was able to come out and find the glasses!
